‘Freedom’ is the theme chosen for the highly anticipated Grape Harvest and Wine Festival (Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre). Visits to the vineyard of Montmartre, wine tastings, guided tours of the colourful and lively 18th arrondissement, performances, exhibitions, workshops and other festivities will be brightening up this autumn weekend in and around Montmartre.
If you haven’t reserved your spots for the tours, fret not. We suggest you swing by Les Trois Baudets for some wine tasting and for a musical interpretation of the tastes and smells of wines by Louis Antoine Luyt (Soirée des Vins Rebelles, Les Trois Baudets, 64 Boulevard de Clichy, October 6, 2016 – 19h30 onwards).
For the weekend, stroll along the streets of Montmartre and discover some delicious artisanal wines and gourmet local products (Le Parcours du Goût, October 7 to 9, 2016, Butte Montmartre, 10h to 23h). Or, join in the grand parade on Saturday (Le Grand Défilé, October 8, 2016, 11h45 onwards).
Finally, on Sunday, stop by Place des Abbesses to experience a one of a kind marriage ceremony (Cérémonie des non-demandes en mariage, October 9, 2016, Place des Abbesses, 10h30 onwards).
Wrap up the festivities at Square Louise Michel with the dancers of José Montalvo’s company Chantal Loïal (Bal en Liberté – Entrez dans la danse, Square Louise Michel, 17h to 19h).
Chop, chop! Off to the 18th!
