An old gym building has been transformed into a temporary exhibition space by Parisian associations Plateau Urbain and Soukmachines. Fifteen contemporary artists have ‘squatted’ Club Azteca, 36, rue de Crimée, 75018 Paris to create experimental art pieces for this brilliant exhibition called Les machines urbaines (The Urban Machines).
What should you expect? Painted toilets, painted walls, painted everything, crazy installations, sculptures, collages, drawings et al. All this will be accompanied by a series of performances, interactions, artist meetings, conferences, a ‘mental’ strip-tease, readings, concerts and what not. If you are looking for interesting ways to spend your weekend in Paris, Les Machines Urbaines is a must-see!
Here are some pictures from our last visit.
‘Les machines urbaines’ is on view until March 12, 2017 (closed Tuesdays) at Club Azteca, 36 rue de Crimée, 75019 Paris. Free entry.
